Apple Releases iDisk App for iPhone

30 July 2009 3 Comments

idiskappIt seems Apple read my mind with this one. Only last week, having not heard anything about this app anywhere, it just sprang into my mind; ‘wouldn’t it be nice to be able to access my iDisk on my iPhone?’.

Well, they’ve done it, and released a free application that will do just that. Via a simple login screen, you can access all the folders and files contained on your iDisk, and even access other people’s Public Folders to view PDF’s, videos, pictures, MS Office files and more.

The best bit, in my opinion, follows on from what they announced a while ago with the MobileMe revision – being able to share files from within the iDisk and send an email with a link to the recipient to be able to download directly to their computer. You can do all this straight from the iPhone. This is a major bonus for me, as it will enable me to send audio files to clients without having to be at the computer. Truly mobile work flow.

The iDisk app is available now to download for free from the Apple App Store.

From the other side of the PC fence, its another day, another lawsuit – now where did I put my book on XML? hmmm
