Do Journalists Need Voice Over Artists?
By Richard Aucock
I’m a motoring journalist. For the past 10 years, the written word has ruled. First, magazines, and now increasingly, websites account for the vast majority of my content. But, things are changing – fast!
Increasingly, it’s important to harness video, too. On many sites, video earns a huge number of hits; publishers love the ability for the right clip to go viral, and editors know the huge potential for the ultimate aim of the publishing world – reader engagement.
Budgets are no larger, though. In …

Episode 5 – May 2010 - “Audio Marketing, a Podcast Special Edition” (24m 14s)
This is a recording of a talk I recently made at a 4Networking event in Sutton Coldfield. I’ve become involved in a project that could do with your vote. A friend and colleague of mine, Amanda Hill of Dreams To Go, has thought up a new idea for a new business, and entered the Barclays Bank ‘Take One Small Step’ competition.

One of my recent jobs was for a local PR and Marketing agency, to voice the narration for a documentary they were producing for schools distribution as an educational tool, to raise awareness in young people of Shaken Baby Syndrome.
The end result is a quite hard-hitting, very well made piece highlighting the dangers of SBS, and how even innocent play time with your child could easily cross over into being very damaging for their body, because babies are very fragile. I think it should be very effective in it’s delivery …

Recently I watched the BBC series “The Virtual Revolution”. Being a bit of a techie geek on the quiet, it’s stuff that very much interests me, all things internet, social media and beyond.
I have to say, it was an absolutely fantastic series that explored the origins of the internet and how it’s changed our lives whether we want it to or not, and the revolution of how it’s affected business globally too. For many of us who are small businesses, (and big businesses for that matter), the uses within the …

Is It Worth Paying For A Voice Over Artist?
This may be a question that you’ve asked yourself before, or for a lot of you, it probably wouldn’t have even crossed your mind. But there is certainly a proportion of society that own businesses, or are in charge of high profile brands that must at times ask themselves this question. Is it worth paying for a professional voice over artist to promote their brand/company?
The simplest answer is of course, you get what you pay for. If you have a guy in …
